Wow, that is quite a beautiful color combo on that car. 370s are growing on me. Definitely looks better than the 350.
I like the 370Z, but not a huge fan of the way they applied the BRE scheme to it.
On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of the 370Z, but love the way they applied the BRE scheme to it.
I dig it. I'm hoping in a few years we will have a 400Z, replete High reving 100hp/liter V8.
yea the BRE scheame hides the hidious lights.. if only they would do something about the cargo van door handles

Stripes at 'wrong' angle, check out the z right behind, less aggressive angle. Change the angle, much different. Definitely moves away from the inital 'fox stripes' that the BRE livery is famous for. It is my understanding (not perfect) that if one is attempting a 'BRE-blessed' liveried replica car, one may need to pay a 'copywrite fee' for use.

Sorry, the stripes are at the correct angle. As Per Pete Brock himself the stripes are on the same angle on the car as the A pillar post. It varies on the Roadster, Z car and 510 so the 370Z will be different too.

Check the cars. Much different. The new one is much swoopier, so the angle works on it. The original idea was to mirror the A pillar shape.

Considering who made the car, and who it was for, I don't think that was even a consideration. And anyhow, Jerry Fox did them on Jack Scott's car before Pete Brock.

Can you really say that the originator of a particular design got it wrong?
Anyway, I like the design but can't really fall in love with the car. Is the interior still cheap like the 350Z was? That was pathetic.
The 370 is looking really bloated, it looks ugly in front of the 240Z. They need to trim it back.

Indeed the cars are different, as the roadster, 510, Z and all others using the BRE scheme. However I don't think that any interpretation has had the stripes at such an angle as to have them terminate aft of the door. Understood about the 'reflecting' angle from A pillar, however just following rules may produce akward interpretations.
Cool pictures and 'fox' stripe history, how does the cobra stripes in another poster's avatar come into play with the history? I have, possibly mistakenly, thought that all stripes over the front fenders, and sometimes hood are called 'fox stripes', e.g. Corvette GS, Cobras, Triumphs, etc.

My understanding is that the stripes were "suggested" for use on the Roadsters by Nissan Motorsports, I mean, "Datsun Competition".

According to Jerry Fox, who originally did the stripes:
"The ideal came from The Texas SCCA Regions Logo. I like the way the sticker(red, white & blue)looked on the right side of the car but hated the way the stripes on the left side (slanting forward) looked weird."
Datsun Competition may have "suggested" them to Brock (who is a talented designer himself), but they were not suggested to Fox when he did them on Jack Scott's car, as they were not sponsored or supported by Datsun Competition.
I always wondered who came up with these similar paint schemes. Did Datsun push the Red/White/Blue theme on the teams?
Corvette stripes sure as heck aren't called fox stripes. They're Grand Sport stripes and they appeared on the 63 Corvette GS race cars to differentiate between the otherwise identical cars. GS stripes started on the drivers (left) side only, now they are acceptable on both (and on a Miata... in purple...).
