Thanks for all the helpful advice on getting my buddies Contour back on the road. I was able to save him a lot of money in labor and parts, but in the end, the car was too far gone. Once the motor was running well, the transmission crapped out. (Some of you saw that coming a mile away and you were right) The front end needed work as well as the brakes, so once we hit $300 out of pocket, we decided we were flushing money and gave up. The car is on its way to the great parts bin in the sky and has been replaced. Thanks for 14 years of faithful service little Ford.

I just recently bailed out of my CSVT so I am also Contour-less. I was glad to see it go lol.

I'm disappointed that the Mondeo...er, Contour didn't do better. It was a nice little driver, very nimble, decent engine (4cyl). They love 'em in the UK, but here they are loathed, probably because too many people have had to work on the V6 models.
