Dang. And here you got my hopes up for a rear-engined air-cooled flat six by GM.

They so need to do commercials featuring Ralph Nader as their spokesman.

Very strange name choice. From what I know the name was entirely manufactured by GM.

Maybe there needs to be a TV series about a rag tag group of reject marines that drive around Corvairs and try to stop the invasion of Japanese imports.

    Corvair, Corsair, 220, 221, whatever... ;)

Caution, if you try to swich channels too quickly, the device may suddenly flip over in your hand.

I predict that it will not be launched in the US with that name, elsewhere maybe. It is not uncommon in electronics to give models development names where the name is not intended to be the production name.

One example that I was involved in was a revolutionary offer that was internally called project CoolJ. The reasoning was, "don't call it a come back.."

Wow, I think GM still has the licensing on the name Corvair.

Teh Googles say there is no definition for the word 'corvair' so I guess it's something GM cobbled together.

But there's two different definitions of the word 'corvette'.

    1. A fast, lightly armed warship, smaller than a destroyer, often armed for antisubmarine operations.
    2. An obsolete sailing warship, smaller than a frigate, usually armed with one tier of guns.

    Hmmm...

    A modern Corvair. Wouldn't that be like a Boxster/Cayman?

No because those are mid engined like a 914. A Corvair was rear engined.

Ralph Nader says that phone has unsafe radiation at any spectrum.

    The Integra's an auto-trans scooter.
    The Corvair's a phone.

Next up, the new Mangusta food processor.

    Grr.
