5X112 all audis and mercedes wheels will fit. Bilstiens with H&R springs in the back will make her feel great. I have a set of brackets that will adapt porsche big red calipers to a eurovan (I have a set on my 01 E/V). you can go all the way to 18" diameter with like a 245/45-18 on them or maybe a 235 depending on tire. A neat sneaky way to get better fuel mileage is to put sears garden edging on the bottom of the front spoiler to extend it by about 2" this is potentially worth around1-1.5 mpg on the highway.

well, its apart. No metal shavings in the case, all the selectors work fine, no real wear of any sort.

except for reverse, which was expected...

so, the plan is to clean it all up, and throw it back together and back into the van. My co-worker has another reverse gear he is gonna throw my way.

That should be a cool van when it's all said and done.

And this problem is caused by what? People not understanding what un-synchronized means?

Uninitiated VW owners tend to slip the trans from 1st to reverse before the car has stopped rolling during parking lot maneuvers. Teeth get chipped as a result. Worst part is when the pieces get into the diff and bearings. Listen the next time you see a Jetta or Golf backing up. You get the standard gear noise accompanied by a "tunk, tunk, tunk" sound.

Got the clutch last night, taking the case home tonight to clean it in my parts cleaner tank. Going back together tomorrow, and hopefully back in the van by Saturday morning!
