I kinda want to try out the Juke after reading the specs.

Good info, but we're really talking just about the looks, not the whole vehicle. No?

A 4500 lb SUV with no rear head room - why make something that big if you can't carry stuff in it?

Is the Murano any better? I haven't been in one, but it doesn't look like it has any rear headroom or utility.

Au contraire. My daughter has one (bought against my advice) and I was amazed at how much stuff we could pile in that thing when we were moving her.

Wear welder's goggles to the test drive so you can get near it.

Just so we're clear, my complaint was only about the looks. (Although I guess the "why?" question is implied)

In addition to Aztek ugly, the other truly startling thing was how huge this barge is. From the size, you'd expect it to be Panamanian flagged and hotly pursued by a fleet of Somali pirates.

I think the Accord would look a lot better if the but was more squared off and wagon-y.

I think the newer Elements are beautiful in every way, and I'm anything but a 'hipster.' I think the looks started to grow on me when I realized how incredibly functional they are...and that you could get one with a 5-speed and AWD.

Perhaps, but when the distinctive look makes the vehicle nearly useless, it's worth mentioning. FWIW, all the new shield-grille Acuras are kinda ugly to me.

Yuppies. I blame yuppies. Who else buys that Acura, a convertible Nissan Murano, a BMW X6, or an Infiniti FX? All HIDEOUS vehicles, in more ways than their looks.

Still, it comes back to this...all those I just named aren't nearly as repulsive as the front view of an '11 MS3.

I've counted about 11 Aztek's here where I live. Most of them are in fine shape, seemingly. I mean, no clouds of smoke, oil stains, missing body parts or hideous noises when idling next to one. Weird. I guess they're like roaches, ugly but unkillable.

^ Well, i have no great love for the 3400 or 4t60/65 trans, but its certainly not HARD to keep them running.

Now this is another matter altogether:

I KNEW there was a reason i mentioned the Juke..
