Ford is bringing a EcoBoost to our work next week for a few guys and myself to drive. I'm excited.

Should see the trucks around March/April. Information might be a bit hard to find since most of it is just trickling to the dealers right now. Anything you wanna know? I sell these beasts for a living and had the chance to take a day long hands on class for the thing back in October.

Actually, when I look at dealer inventories around me on fordvehicles.com, there are a few on the lots now.

Last comment before I leave this thread: The title is part of what rubs people wrong. There's no way that we can tell if this motor is the most reliable or not. The testing is impressive in it's own right. But it's just one data point, not something one can base a solid blanket statement on.
I think the title was simply a nod to Jeremy Clarkson's brand of overstatement.
It was. That was my intent.

Shoulda called it "The toughest engine in The Woooooooooorld!"
Fast Eddie not only is funny but great at titles!
You're right FE. The joke would've been more apparent with a few more OOOOOOOO's.

Would you report back?

AW snap! Horse's mouth info stream!
Can you confirm the mileage numbers? What's the tow capacity for this motor? Does it have the typical 3/36 warranty from Ford? Is the drivetrain warranty 6/60? What transmissions will it come attached to? Is Obama really a natural born citizen?

I can say yes on the mileage numbers. I got 23 mpg driving the truck on Aberdeen, MD backroads. Tow is 11,500. Standard warranties. Only transmission is a 6-speed auto although you can check off the select shift option. As far as Obama, ask someone who works for GM or Chrysler.

Finally some real mileage numbers, thanks. So since the 5.0 V8 is 15 City/21 Hwy, it's about 2 mpg better (though you mentioned you were on backroads.)

I'm pretty confident the actual highway mileage will be impressive considering one of my customers got 21 mpg in a new Super Duty on a highway trip to South Carolina.

Every time I read the thread title in my head it is with the voice of Jeremy Clarkson.
And on that bombshell, we'll end.
