    I've gotten to the point on the Trans Am where it runs fine and it's good for cruising but I want to swap a newer GMPP LSx(LS376/480) crate motor in it and that's gonna take some time and patience to be done correctly.

    With that said, I just picked up some Ventus RS-3s and a Eibach 19mm rear sway bar and a strut tower brace. Sway bar and strut tower brace aren't on car yet, but thinking they'll bump me up to DSP so what else should I go with? HFP shocks/springs? Intake, catback and Hondata Flashpro for some extra power? Anything else?

    Doesn't sound like DSP, sounds more like ST.

    DSP is one choice but maybe not the best. ST or STX seems a better fit with your selection of tires. SP has no restrictions for wheel diameter or width and allows R-comps. I know the rules have changed a bit, so check the current ST rule-set to determine where a car with factory lsd fits. You could choose SP or one the ST classes with your mods; it's just a matter where you want to run or be the most competitive.

    Are the HFP springs/shocks different than the OE units on an Si? Seems like the Si's already have them and the HFP stuff is for the standard models.

    Yea, that's much more in line with ST. I ran a EP hatch in ST back in 2002---fastest non wishbone Civic at Nats, one out of the trophies. Not a bad platform, but be careful about lowering too much--bumpsteer issues.

    They make an HFP kit for the Si. Spring rates aren't much different, just lower the car a bit and the dampers are a bit stiffer. I would also rather use that because it's a factory part that I can get for cheap.

    I was going to buy the 225 V710s that are selling for cheap on tire rack now but a local club I run with bumps you into SP category with that tire on a stock car. So I opted for the RS-3 and some other mods.

    Install the parts you already have and go have fun. Buy the HFP bits if you think the car will benefit, but do so only after you have established a baseline for comparison.
