New timing lights to replace the ones that have been run over too many times. I painted these bright yellow hoping if they could see them they would miss them. I did build an extra just in case.

You know how they say "you go where you look"? Now you've given them something to look at... :)

    Very cool.

you should put a big flashing sign on the top of it that reads.. "Hey retard.. Don't run this thing over"

    nice work.

I know cones are "meant to be hit", but I always thought the lights would damage the paint..

What you need to do is lay a road flare down in front of it. No one wants to hit a lit flare.

I thought about building them out of structural steel. Being as I would probably be the first person to run them over I figured that wouldn't be the smart plan. I built these to be hit. Rather than having to rebuild the whole thing just the broken part can be replaced.

Hmm I usually spend part of my Sunday's running those down...

Just put 2 feet of spike-strips on each side at the finish. Alot of drivers don't really give a E36 M3 if they delay an event because they wiped out the timing system...

They may be a little more concerned if they have to replace a tire or two each run.

Pretty good idea, really. As I should have mentioned in my previous post, that's a nice piece of work.
