As soon as I found out that you could only get them in an automatic, I stopped looking.

not sure if the awd is the same way, but on the rwd model, the traction control is supposedly only for getting unstuck, not for thinking for yourself. it automatically turns itself back on above 20-25mph

The pre-Toyotaberkeleyed Legacy GT is the clear superior here...

Subaru builds a great looking car, decides, "hey now, we're Subaru, we can't have that!"

Designs the new one to make up for their momentary lapse in judgment....

If your GF is anykind of car person she won't like the Lexus. I've just gotten rid of the 2wd version and it was the most souless, characterless car I've had since a mid 80's GM product. They are cars that read nice on paper but there's a disconnect between the paper and the actual car.

That should work fine for her then.

And she drives strictly an automatic, so it won't be a problem for an auto only car. Gladly for me though, the F-sport accessories makes a couple parts that are worthwhile. Front and rear sways, shocks, springs, bigger front and rear brakes(big money though)...
