To be fair they took it to them thar NASCAR raced up in da Pocanos too. He told me that was its primary purpose in life.

just remember that RVs can be a lot like boats, without the hope that maybe one day it will sink while you're at work and put itself out of your misery.

That's why you can pick them up for pretty cheap. They can be a bit maintenance intensive compared to regular vehicles, need to be a mechanic, plumber and home repair person at the same time.

I think some of the towing limitations have to do with the large amount of overhang relative to the rear axle.

Yeah, especially on a 32 footer like this, I'd actually prefer shorter. I have other pics and the rear overhang goes on FOREVER.

Still it'd be good for all the reasons stated above and as an emergency doghouse for when I do something to really piss of SWMBO :)

I'm not saying that to discourage you from doing this deal. Just trying to give you advance warning, so that you take the right steps when you do end up towing something. Seems like a hell of a deal. SWMBO do prefer campers over tents any day of the week.

Not discouraging to me at all. Im not really looking at this for towing. In fact a small side note for wanting to sell the truck is to remove the ability to tow and the temptation that comes with it. Im trying to get a handle on my car addiction and learn to focus on one or 2 projects at a time (which I already have) rather than dragging home more and more orphans.

I think the biggest turnoff to me about it right now is the number of friends and family who are already asking about using it. Too bad I checked that little box that said noone else would drive it when I did an insurance quote

I trust a few of my friends to know how to handle it and more importantly to make things right if they break it, but SWMBOs family on the other hand....

If you have doubts about the person you are loaning it to, go with your gut and don't. Mty cousin loaned his out and got a call it was stuck in the mcdonalds drive thru a mile from his house.

Wally is right. Most people don't have a clue when it comes to RVs. Driving them is one thing, correctly using the water sytem (including how & where to empty holding tanks), generator and other stuff is another. I've looking at getting an older class c RV, and have family already asking about using it when I haven't done anything but peruse craigslist for them. Of course they want to use it for free. Probably the main reason I don't get one.

Oh don't get me wrong, I have no intention of loaning it, especially to family. I made that part very clear with the wife when we first discussed it and she agreed so she can fight the battle with her family.

The few friends I would consider loaning it to have RV and large vehicle experience.

Does that have two axles in the rear? That's pretty wild for such a relatively small RV! I would think that would up the tow rating. Not to encourage your addiction or anything.

Add me to the list you tell if you decide not to keep it, that thing is pretty sweet.

Yeah, its a dual rear axle, that photo is a bit deceptive, this is one of the largest class Cs I've ever seen, 32' is alot for a class C. Even with the dual axles the rear overhang is scary.

I mentioned selling and SWMBO actually got a little upset so she seems to be pretty set on keeping it, but time will tell. Still waiting for Sunday to go do the look over and see if the guy still wants to make the trade.

Is the second axle a non-driven one? Curious to know what is under there, let us know what you find out. Looks like a good deal for a straight trade.

It's probably a tag axle. Make sure that if it has air bags that it actually holds pressure. That's a whole LOT of rear to hold up on just the drive axle if the tag isn't doing anything. And, I hear Bilsteins, swaybars and a steering stabilizer do wonders for the handling. Really!
