Advantage for me is I only live maybe a 2 hour drive from South Bend, so I can use a day off drive up get tires and either mount 'em myself if I'm in school that semester, or the shop down the street are a bunch of good guys and cheap. Though the Discount Tire not far from me is around the same price as Tire Rack is if I include shipping. So, if I don't want to or don't have time to drive to Tire Rack local Discount Tire store works out to the same price wise.

Belle Tire in Novi MI had the Michelins for wifey's minivan listed at the same price as Tire Rack, and they knocked off something like $12 per tire on their "out the door price" when I told them where I work (in brake testing, we buy a lot of tires). Four Michelin Symmetry 225/60-16 mounted, balanced, installed, under $500 out the door. I'll see what they quote on the Mazda6 in a few months, but I'm thinking that my Tire Rack ordering days may be limited.
