Has anyone used this tool or one like it?

    link

It seems like a good idea for certain fasteners. I can think of some times when I think this might've helped. If I could think of some pressing need to have it now I would buy one and try it out. I always like new tools.

Are there other things out there like this?

OK, I want one of those, assuming it's not $100 or utter cack.

As part of my anniversary present, my wife got me one of these:

Haven't had a chance to try it, yet, but it also looks handy.

Yea, definitely need one of those. That's genius. Maybe it'll be not Chinese and last longer than 4 days, too.

omfg...dukes godfinger rules my universe! musthavenow!

Ive never seen that extension tool before, but I could see it being great for reaching accessory pulleys on FWD compacts that are up against the body.

A friend of mine showed me that the other day. He was using it to get to some starter bolt on a Honda. He said it's great.

    $49 for the 3/8" and $39 for the 1/4"

I'm guessing the ends are chain or belt driven. Looks like it can be pulled apart and maintained, which is a good thing, IMO.

I saw it on the Popular Mechanics site. It was one of 11 tools for the automotive DIYer with everything or something like that. It was the only thing that was all that interesting to me.

I needs one 'o those Tite-Reach... plus that magnetic finger. I've gotten the finger before but it wasn't magnetic.

won't this negatively affect the amount of torque you can put on a fastener? You've got to hold the tite-reach and crank down, without mashing your hand/fingers between the two. And wouldn't the extra length of the thing make it easier to round off fasteners when you're trying to apply that torque?

If it really can be used with an impact, cool. That might be worth something. But I wonder how much energy is lost in taking up the slop in the chain or whatever it is that makes the thing work.

I propose that the Tite-Reach folks become GRM advertisers and create a special group buy offer just for the GRM crowd. If the thing works aren't we the people they want to be using their tool and telling everyone about it?
