None of those cars have the safety standards I would consider putting a two year old or new born into. Thanks for looking in my garage though. Don't forget to vote it up.

I guess that is the kind of changes people go thrue when they become parents. The mentality of "I survived riding in the front seat of a (insert old car here) when I was 3" REALLY goes away.
I think part of it is that we know better now... Although an accident is rather remote, imagine now bad you'd feel if you were iin one and your kid was injured due to negligence on your part... It's not nearly so bad if you didn't know better.
2 year olds should NOT ride in the front seat of anything with airbags.
Trade the Miata.
But, you've already made your decision. Looks to me that everyone who has kids agrees with you.
I do agree with you.. unless you can have one of those keyed switches to defeat the airbags like some pickups do
I thought all newwer 2 seaters had defeatable pass. airbag, not just trucks.

I let my little ones cruise the neighborhood in my Miata. I am responsible enough to turn off the airbag. I let them cruise in my 944 too, but still just around the neighborhood.
I let my little ones ride in the back of my pickup.
Doesn't change the fact that they should not.
He's asking a car buying question. I'm answering responsibly. Certainly wasn't trying to make any comments about your parenting.

Oh, I didn't take it that way at all. I turn into a total nerd when it comes to the safety of my kids. 20 mph on neighborhood streets is about as crazy as it gets for me if they aren't in one of our "safe" cars.
So, what happened?
