Well, it's come to the point in my beater's life that I just don't give a e36 m3 about the paint. With advanced cancer, its eating itself to death. That coupled to half assed bodywork (it involved an accident from a PIT maneuver, I swear) means it needs a ghetto makeover.

I tried to search GRM for the famous truck bed liner Audi, but to no avail.

Any info or knowledge on how to do this? What prep work? Scuff the OG paint, or strip it. What brand paint to use? ...etc...

Or, if there is a link, save yourself some trouble, and pop up the linky.

Thanks in advance. If this doesn't turn into a complete cluster-berkley, I'll post up pics.

BTW, its a 1995 Chevy Caprice 9C1 cop car.

Truck bed liner is not cheap. I did my gas tanks in the Esprit with it and it took 2 cans at about $80 or so to do.

I did the floors of a BMW track car, one $50 can did it.

Why not just buy the cheapest paint you can and roll it on with a foam roller? You want ghetto or abrasive?

plasti-kote works nicely and can be removed if you don't like the results by peeling it off. I used topside marine boat paint on the XR4, covered the whole car for the cost of $35 quart of paint, $5 paint thinner, foam roller, etc. I had $57 in paint when I was done. Truck bedliner would be cool but it's $. Though I've seen the gallon size el-cheapo roll on bedliner at Walmart for $50. Don't know how far it would get you...

What colors in roll on do you guys think would look decent? Blues seem like a terrible idea without flake/pearl.

Can you mix flake / pearl into rustoleum?

Am I going to spend $250 on a $5000 paint job soon?

Truck bed liner works good for bumpers.

I would go Tractor Enamel. It's the sleeper of cheap paint. I painted an old pickup once with it - its tough stuff.
