Is it wrong of me to want to get a uhaul truck and pimp it out? I want to tint the windows, put hydraulics on it, put in a system and splash wild graphics on the side. Then again, a supercharger on the 454 engine and smoking of the tires would be great as well, lol...

I rented one over the weekend, and now have the dream of pimping out a uhaul truck simply for the point of it. It would need some nice ghetto 22" rims as well.

Needs a flat panel TV, surround sound, a king size bed and a mini-bar.

I know where this one is parked. I've also had the strong urge to bag it, leave the patina, and install a rockin' mini-discotheque in the box. Oh, and use it as a tow vehicle too.

Certain models don't have a transmission capable of locking out reverse at speed, tire smoke is just an accidental flick of the wrist away at any moment.

Working those scratchy blue moving blankets into the design somewhere is a must also.

U Haul is where I discovered driving the new Ford Vans was fun. The 24" box diesel wasn't as much fun.

we rented a 17' or 14' i think, it was an F350 frame and V8 engine, and funny enough it was pretty quick off the line. I think I pissed off a kid with a mustang gt as well, he kept creeping up, and had a car full of people stuffed in there. So when the light turned i took off, and then he eventually caught up, lol... his passengers weren't too pleased, it was really funny though.

I've been keeping my eye out for one to convert to a camper/toy hauler/tow vehicle. For the money I want to spend you don't get a whole lot though. I'll keep looking, and find the right one for the right price. Hopefully I will have the money at the same time

Just be ready to replace the engine, tranny, rear end, rebuild the front end, steering box and understand that U-Haul service is done on an as-needed basis. When it breaks, the will rig a repair. Maybe. They sell them when the problems have gotten too bad to fix.

Its not like a modified U haul has never been done before

yeah, a modified uhaul has been done before, im not trying to do something new. I guess it would make a good travel van as well. You can get them for damn cheap, and im sure you need to replace the engine and such, but still, they are a good deal, even with 200k miles on the clock.
