If you thought going fast for only $2000 was challenging, try doing it for half than that amount. That’s exactly what competitor John Brown did.

For a total budget of $1042, he fielded a V8-powered 2003 Lexus GS430 at our $2000 Challenge. The icing on the cake? The homemade plywood front splitter. Presented by CRC Industries.

It seems like the JZ-powered GS gets more usage, but I've always thought it would be neat to have a UZ-powered GS—or at least something powered by a UZ.

And I'm bummed that I didn't get to hang with John. This past Challenge was, well, a little different.
