Here is the first video I have gotten processed and uploaded. I have about 10 gig of HD video to go through yet.

This is from Sunday, the Kentucky Spirits 300zx with myself, Gene Young, at the wheel. I picked out some highlights to upload. My spin in turn eight right after I went out. Some Team Dirty Escort in action, and a few clean laps at the end.

It was a great race, and a great time. We finished 7th. on Saturday, and 5th on Sunday. We also got the "John Cameron Swayze, It takes a licking and keeps on ticking" award.

Any of you that are on the fence about running a Chump Car race should just go ahead and do it. I have autocrossed and done track days for a long time, but they just don't compare to the fun and excitement of an actual race. Our team got a non-turbo 300zx for $300.00, and basically we gutted it and put in a cage and went racing. Since we are a new team we are doing one hour stints behind the wheel, but once all of our drivers get comfortable racing we will start doing two hour stints, and hopefully that will get us a podium finish.

Keep checking back on this post, I will add more videos as I get them uploaded.

Sweet! What place overall did you guys finish in? I heard the Dirty Escorts finished in 6th overall. Congrats to both of you. I'll definitely have to join you guys soon.

Thank you, Grassroots for sponsoring ChumpCar! It is fabulous fun and I hope to see you at Roebling Road! I'm a long time Grassroots fan, and my favorite article has been the one on What Stops a Car.

Anywho, Putnam Park Chump race was exceptionally challenging to the braking system in our KY_Spirits 300zx. It took about one driver stint to turn our peddle to mush. We didn't have that issue at Nashville Superspeedway or Roebling Road. Maybe that is because Putnam is much more challenging. We'll be changing the fluid we use which is ok because it is a safety item. Maybe I should review that article again ;)

It was a thrill! We return from each Chump race making a list of ToDo items for the next and loving every minutes of it. All blood letting on the modifications have been in a sacred manner with hopes it will one day be victorious. To date our victories have been personal. We each have left feeling like winners.

This wheel to wheel chumping is challenging and very real racing.

    Anticipation...

Just finished the 2nd annual Portland Halloween ChumpCar Race yesterday. It was awesome! Met up with old friends, got to swap some paint, drive flat out, do a little wrenching and watch some racing.

I too have about 10gb of video to peruse and pick out the highlights (or lowlights if you'd like, heh)

If you can't swing the racing part, or don't know a team to join and work in the pits, ChumpCar could always use more volunteers. Besides, the volunteers sometimes get the best seats in the house to watch the races and they get in for free :)
