I came across a closeout sale on VW parts. What struck me was the TDI V10 Twin Turbo motor. It was $35,656 but yours for only $6,600.

What could you drop this motor into to make a sick monstrosity?

You've never heard of the Touareg V10 TDI? Not to mention the Audi R10 TDI that dominated endurance racing for what... 5 years?

There are some other stuff in there with some decent prices... like a new 02M for $3000...

I want one. That was too cool

Ian - no the R8 was the last Audi racer I watched at Le Mans. When I as married she didn't understand the whole love of racing and cars in general thing.

Lots of wheels available! Late model GTI alum. wheel for $49.

And as of last week, for the first time in 30 years - I am Volkswagen-less!

Hmm, I wonder if that was the V10 diesel that got obliterated by our high sulfur fuel. Probably OK now that we are ULSD

ROFL! So true. I bought mine new, and got in the bad habit of expecting parts to be available anywhere. I had to go to three Autozones a couple of months ago just to find a brakelight switch.

Chrysler had a big selloff last year, auction was in Ohio. 153 2.8L turbo diesel engines, complte on shipping palletts. all sold as one bid at $14000.

somebody got a good deal! went to offshore somewhere.

they where Jeep diesels,, chip it up, make 200hp---BUT 400tq.

I heard they pulled the V10 from the Toureg because it got way too close to the Porsche Turbo in performance. Perhaps not top end, but down low.

No it was on the gross polluter watch list. One of the absolute worst emission vehicles ever tested.

I'd put that or a W8 in a Corrado. Just because it'd be awesome. Useless. But awesome.

You've got to be joking, less than 100 for each of the CRD diesel motors? No wonder Chrysler is bankrupt. One post on the jeep forums and they could have sold them for 10x what they got.
