    Black stripes applied over clearcoat.

    Are they gloss? Then wash like normal. Flat? Avoid! Either way, no buffing or waxing them.

    Wash gently. Use painters tape along the edges of the stripes to protect them from lifting and wax away on the paint, not the stripes. I'm assuming you're using a buffer, not that it really matters.

    I wash and wax the vinyl lettering on my work vans with no special consideration and no problems. Half the time it gets blasted with the pressure washer at the local car wash.
