Keep running across 1.6 Miatas with a wavy nose. Haven't seen any 1.8NAs with the problem.

    Cause? Fix?

not sure what you mean but I have always noticed that the hood never seems to line up with the headlights on early miatas.

The license plate frame makes dents in the bumper if the driver bumps into something.

    Porking on the hood?

I fixed the license plate frame dimples on my first Miata with a heat gun. Not sure on the cause or solution to those larger ripples other than a new bumper cover.

My 94 does that. First there was the actual dent from a PO. I had the nose replaced, it sagged again in the same spot, and the paint shop that did the work insisted it wasn't their fault. Took the nose off myself, found that they put a bent bracket back on the car... Years later, other parts of the nose are starting to sag like that Tulsa car. Not sure what's up there, but it's definitely not limited to 1.6Ls.

Headlight covers on my early NA lined up in a couple minutes of fiddling w/ the stop screws and a little gentle tugging. They're flush now.
