Just got back home from an amazing weekend at the 24 Hours of LeMons Houston. My wife, myself and 2 friends shared driving duties while we had an amazing crew to help us out. Our car - a 1987 Camaro ran the entire event and we covered 814 MILES of racetrack for a very close 2nd place finish. No unscheduled stops, no mechanical difficulties, no wheels off, no penalties and no contact made for lap after lap after lap.

More details and photos to come this week as we write about our experiences.

Congrats, truly an amazing feat! Our car cratered two laps into the green after performing flawlesly during the 1/2 hour parade lap To have covered the distance you did without a hitch is well worth a hearty round of applause. Excellent job!

Did the judge's t-shirt normally stick out that far or was he "pitching a tent"?

I had to look at the back of this thing for an hour while we were doing parade laps behind the pace truck at the start of the race. Still trying to figure out the MFW thing.

    Could MFW = Mofo?

    That would be weird....

Perhaps MFW = Michael Forbes Wilcox?

Really I think it is related to this:

We were there too. Hands down LeMons is the most fun I've had in a car. By Saturday afternoon we were planning for next year. BTW, they'll be back at MSR Houston sometime in '09.

I'd have to say it's the 2nd most fun I've had in a car if you count the times I was "layin'" down...

Although, the LeMons events certainly last longer than I can!!

Congrats on the finish! We didn't run so consistently, but I think your statement may not be so accurate. I wasn't driving at the time, but the guy that was said there was a blue camaro involved with this...

It was just a little bump though. We'll see ya next year hopefully.

Not us...we had no "new" damage that wasn't already there...:)

We did see your car though...Marvel Mystery Oil engine block filled right to stop the smoking? You finished though I think right?

Stop the smoking? no, we never managed that. Sunday was on/off as the car died at every driver change and had to cool about 20 between runs before it would start again. I killed it for good in Turn 1 about an hour before the end.
