    A plus for anything like that would have outside storage as well. I would love to find something like that in my area (York PA), I have a storage facility that is simply too far from home.

    I am actually interested and would like to stop by and take a look. Are there certain hours one can come by to check it out? Also, I didn't see anything about the length of the lease. What's the shortest term available? I may only need a space for a few weeks. Thanks.

    I am a member of one that is sponsored by an un named major industry in the metro Atl. area. I think it works because it is administrated by and most members are retired military folks. $25.00 a year $5.00 buy in for the tire balencer. A tool crib that you can borrow anything from an oil pressure sending socket to a mig welder from. Two lifts. Oil change pit. 24/7 access. Tow dollies. Utility trailer.

    The down side is the tool crib is only manned twice a week for about 6 hours. Lifts only go high enough to mount tire and wheels on. Pit is out side. Any project left there over night must have written permission with a 3 day max. You must be an employee, retiree, or offspring of same.

    As I have a 1600 SF shop I use it for the tire mount and ballance, and tool borrowing.

    We've got an Open House this Saturday at 12PM til 4PM. We'll have a mead tasting on site and all sorts of cool stuff. You're welcome to come down.

    Love the idea. Wish there was something like that local to me. Unfortunately, I live in the boonies. Best of luck. Make sure you let us know how it's doing a year from now.

    I also wanted to let you guys know we're refining our focus on exactly what we want this building to be.

    We've decided we're targeting motorsports and racing development work. We'll have tire mounting and balancing equipment, scales and alignment equipment available within a short period of time. A lift is in the works as well.

    It's all very exciting stuff.

    That was the first thing I thought of as well. Like it or not, these days you need liability insurance in case someone drops an engine block on their head or something. Also, for instance, what happens if someone accidentally starts a fire and burns the place down along with a bunch of other people's cars?

    There's a pretty neat garage condominium complex here in the Minneapolis area. It's more of a high end deal where everyone owns their own space and they don't share shop equipment, but there is a clubhouse area with a kitchen, bar, big screen TV, etc. http://www.automotorplex.com/

    We've got liability insurance and we're making everyone sign waivers. It's bulletproof.

    Yeah, waivers are far from bullet proof. They'll cover you as far as the steps to the court house, then from there on you could be screwed.
