Yeah, I guess it really isn't even the same car anymore. The interior is gone, the wheels I so lovingly restored are gone, the paint is different, and I'm pretty sure the 12A got replaced. Here's the ad by the way, it's a killer deal:

The Challenge is 3500 miles from me. I have a Grand Prix, a Mazda5, a Porsche 944, a Javelin, a go kart, and 2 scooters at a house with a 1.5-car garage (washer/dryer are in there so nothing fits in spot #2). I'm a foster parent, work full time, and have my first kid due in January.
I think spending $2K to get an old car back that is nothing like it was when I sold it to enter an event in Florida that will require taking time off and spending another $2K in shipping is probably not the brightest idea. Probably

I forgot to mention that I'm also getting a Jeep J20 running for my dad so it can be shipped to Florida with the 2 401's and a 727TF trans that are in my garage. Oh, and there's those 2.5 pesky 928's that I own that I need to do something with.

I'm buying back the '72 Duster I sold a few months ago. This will be the 3rd time I've owned it. But I'm only helping a buddy out of a jam this time. Already scouting potential suitors.
I also have a Jeep Comanche here. That's the second time I've owned it. This time, after a motor swap it will be a shop truck/parts chaser for the shop. So at least it has a point.
If the '83 Mirada I owned twice found me a third time I'd run away. It would be like Christine found me and was pissed.
If I were in you shoes, and really wanted the RX7 back, I'd sell the 944 since that was going to be the competition car. Finish the Javelin build and use that for the cruise night/going for ice cream car. Plenty of kids will fit in it, and it's bitchin'.

Because my then girlfriend (and now knocked-up wife
) was starting to autocross, but had issues driving a half-million-mile, 25-year-old, carburetored, rotary-powered car. So I sold it and bought a Miata.
Once I realized the error of my ways the Miata left for a car we both enjoy driving, the Porsche 944, which will eventually leave for an Early Boxster S, but I need a LOT more pennies to do that.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! To put this decision into perspective, $2K would finish the Javelin and get road-worthy and painted!
Now the decision is a no-brainer, use the money to restore the Javelin so I can show off my new kid next year at all of the car shows. How hard can it be to install LATCH hardpoints to a 73?

You can't fault the original owner lady who ordered a freaking RX7 GSL in 83 and drove until 2008 when she bought an RX8 now can you?
