Is it weird that i'd like to see a more modern wheel on that thing? Like... RPF1s or Volk TE37s?

I want one of these. I have built several cars using C5 Corvette parts in my own space frame. For 1 of them 1 bought a Cobra body. For the others I sculpted the body, made molds, then made my parts. One of my cars was featured at SEMA 2003 and was featured at the Hot Rod Hall of Fame dinner at SEMA. I am getting ready to build a car with the Miata as the donor. I will build a version of my frame. I was going to sculpt my own body but I just came across this. The Miata has almost the same wheelbase but is 6 inches wider. I'm thinking that splitting the car in the middle and adding 3 inches and then flaring the fenders 1.5 inches each might be the best way to go. I don't want to narrow the Miata suspension. My Corvette based cars weigh under 1900lbs. I am thinking around 13-1400lbs for this. What do you think? John

I am also thinking that it would be good to have the car use the Porche 550 spyder windshield. The Sammio is the same width so I believe that it wouldn't be a problem to make this mod. Some states do require a DOT approved windshield. The 550 windshields are readily available and reasonably priced.

JMC, have you built other kit type cars before? There aren't that many in the area so you must know each other I guess. Coveland near me built built Lotus 7s but folded or took time off.
Your posts are kit car specific, just curious. BTW my dream is 5.0 powered Lotus 7.

Hello neighbor, I built a Beck Lister 12 years ago. Was disappointed in several aspects of it. So, I started building one off cars of my own design. I enjoy designing and building cars.
Unfortunately I don't know Coveland. In reply to 914Driver: -

+2. Finding a cheap, running but rusty Spit in the Northeast usually isn't too difficult.
