Cx7 gets my vote, as does the Ford Escape, or (GAH!) a Toyota RAV-4. I'd prefer the cx7 myself, but then again, I'm aware of what a cx-7 on a 3 inch and an e85 tune can due. Never get funnier looks in your life than when you ping the BOV next to some tooner punks, and you're in an SUV.

She wants an SUV because she likes to be up high. I don't understand why. New cars are out of the price range. I feel like both the CX-7 and the Mazda5 are too expensive. I know she won't like the minivan idea and the Element is out because she doesn't like the boxy. And I am not touching a Hyundai Tuscun with a ten foot pole.

And she isn't prone to accidents we just got hit by a old lady in her Town Car who wasn't paying attention. I got a concussion from the deal and the girlfriend got a strained back.

Well, wait to see what the insurance says, and go from there.

    Forester Turbo

    Tiguan

    Element

    In that order.

If not an SUV, a Mazda3 (or Speed3) or Impreza wagon would be on my list.

Had an '07 Escape 4cyl Auto 2wd for a while (now belongs to the ex) and really liked it. Got mid-high 20's mpg highway at ~75mph and low 20's in town. The 4banger is pretty bulletproof, quite a few people on escapecentral.com with 200k+ on 'em. They're cheap too, good bang for the buck IMHO

My vote is to stick with another VUE. My g/f has a 04 Vue V6 AWD, that has 90k and runs great. That honda motor is the best thing saturn could have put in it. While you might not need the AWD, its worth it when it gets E36 M3ty outside.

That AWD may be more necessary than you think. From reading the reviews, the 250hp V6 causes problems in the FWD only models.
