So back when hurricane irene came around she flung a tree onto my integra.

The parents want it out of the garage and I'm not quite sure what I should with it. I do plan on taking out the easy stuff, seats, headunit, lights, front sway bar, passenger side mirror, and wheels.

What should I do with the rest of the car? I don't the space or know-how to do much with the engine and transmission. The car only has 127k miles on it and I just did timing belt water pump and all fluids at 124k. Do you guys think anyone (even on grm) would bother picking it up on the boards for cheap? It'd be a hassle since it'd have to be trailered technically, although it still runs and drives fine. I've even taken it out around the block a couple times.

Long story short do you guys think it would even be worth it to post the car in classifieds? do people even want non-vtec engines? or should get a junkyard to pick it up?

Whether you bother to post it up in the classifieds depends on how much you expect to get from it..

I dont know how much that is worth to a 'honda person' but to me it looks like 3-400 bucks.. and i sold this one for every bit of $6200 so it's not that i think they are worthless in general.

You're too far away. Phew. If you removed a bunch of interior stuff and kept it I would say the rest of the car is worth about $500. Also depends on what wheels the car has. Desirable stock wheels are worth between $2-$300.

Haha, 4-500 sounds great now I just have to wait for a grm-er thats relatively close to stumble upon this.

It does have the "webs wheels" on it as it sits, but I do plan on picking up some steelies and packing the webs away either to sell or keep for a future integra.

Thanks for the advice guys! i'll be making my post tomorrow I have to head to bed I spent too much time on craigslist today.

I've always thought that a tree to the roof was a sign from above that you need to make your own convertible.

Sawzall the roof off and enjoy, if only for a short time.

$500 bucks and a quick & dirty roof repair + bolt in cage would make a great Lemons racer.

Post it up on CL and see how it goes. Doesn't cost anything. I think scrap value on a car these days is around $300-$400.

It should be worth at least that to a guy with a Civic.

If you were a little closer, I would take it fire 300. Looking for a rally car that has already been wrecked. Its not perfect for it, but a demolition derby team might want it.

If someone is headed Florida past Saint Louis, I'll take it.

Edit: But I ask that you leave at least the driver's seat.

Could you post some better pictures? The better idea we have of the damage, the better someone could make plans for the car. I like the Lemons idea.

Lemons was my thought as well...

Will post more pictures after work. Windshield is cracked, rear passenger window is shattered, slightly mangled hood, and no straight panels except a door maybe I'd have to check. But it does have a full tank of gas!

I am located in middlesex zip code 08820

Cool. Grab some pics if you can. Let me know what you'd want for it as it sits now...sans tree of course...

Middlesex. Is that between Highsex and Lowsex?

I jest - I actually grew up in central Jersey, but i left for greener pastures 31 years ago.

Boy do I wish you were local... For the money, that'd be worth pounding out the roof and heaving in some glass for a cheap, reliable daily.

If you don't use the top picture (the one with just the tree and house and oh, there's the car peakng out from beneath the canopy) in the CL ad, you're doing it wrong.

Man, that tree had to work HARD to find your car there... that sucks.
