    It's already here. Get a C-Band dish.

I'm on Dish, and was about to kick it to the curb in favor of Direct before I heard this. Dish annoyed me to no end by getting into a tiff with Cablevision over several local sports channels last year, including MSG, which means I missed the entire 2010-11 NY Rangers season, and have missed all the games of the new season thus far as well. Now I have to see how this DTV/Fox business shakes out. Charming....

Just got the following from Direct TV:

"As you may have heard, DIRECTV has been in talks with News Corp./Fox about continuing to carry Fox-owned channels. We're pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached. There will be NO service interruption. All channels will remain on the air.."

Yeah, neither party was going to let this happen. Much ado about nothing.

our local cable station had this happen about ever 2 years as long as I've lived in the area... but this time around it actually has happened... they lost FOX...

prob won't happen to the HUGE cable/dish companies... but won't stop them from playing hardball with each other...

in the end... i'm happy sitting here streaming... building a proper HTPC with Christmas gift $$$ (so I can watch the "computer only" stuff on hulu)... also plan to get a decent antenna on top of the house and turn the HTPC into a DVR... even if I went crazy on the HTPC and antenna i'd still come out much cheaper then cable prices :-/...
