I had that woody version only it was blue. Good cheap transportation.

Was it a woody sans hood vent or was it plain with a hood vent?

the latter is very rare in the TD world. The former isn't so much (well, except the blue with wood trim)

Sorry I didn't notice the hood vents. I assume that means turbo? Mine was a Town&Country wagon with the Mitsubishi 4 banger under the hood(non-turbo).

You are right Duke for that one. Even with the LSD, if you poke it in a corner, its going to want to go strait.

We just picked up the twin to this car for my mom's new daily driver. A 2002 325xit, 5 spd, 140k, no major problems, $6k.

She wanted a fun to drive, classy looking car, that is fairly reliable, with a manual transmission and all wheel drive. This was really the only choice. It replaced both her 85 M-B 300D turbo which she just crashed, and her 91 Civic Wagon (with SOHC VTEC swap, coilovers, Konis, etc, which will no longer pass inspection and is becoming our new LeMons car)

That wagon was only sold in the US for one year, 2004, and it was not an Evo just a Lancer. Officially called the Lancer Sportback in came in a base version and a RallySport version. The only engine was the big 2.4L 4 cyl but unfortunately AUTOMATIC ONLY.
I helped and encouraged my nephew to buy one. It was a left-over model and he paid $13.5 for a new car with a $19k sticker.

The wagon was sold as an Evo Wagon in other countries.

My mother had one of those in red. You have no idea how badly I wanted to buy a rear-end-wrecked Evo VIII and mate the two - 2.4 long block with the rest of the Evo drivetrain and front clip, and maybe the rear flairs if I was feeling ambitious.

Do they have enough scoops and slats on that ugly thing or what?

I think we know where they shipped all the out of work Pontiac designers

    RT4WD Civic wagon.

It's got the D16A6 of the Si models, all wheel drive, and nearly as much cargo space as a Toyota Highlander. (Trust me. I've compared them side by side.)

    If that doesn't convince you:

I think those are great. There are not many of them and they are getting long of tooth- but they are a wonderful and fun ute with all the usual honda upside.

I think those 4WD Civic wagons must be the most "thrashed" old cars ever...ice racing, jumping sand dunes, Sonic's Mom's car - VTEC swapped then driven 'till it rusted out . etc.
