I've got the original molds for the LeGrand and hope to do a wet lay-up carbon body over the winter. Project car updates/editorial to follow.

I took a class here: http://techshop.ws/
We did a small project to learn the basics of laying up carbon fiber over a kevlar mold/shape. It was pretty straightforward even to someone like me that has never worked with carbon fiber, fiberglass or anything else.
What I discovered is that the process of laying it up is pretty easy. What I also discovered is that making a mold in NOT easy at all.

They came with the car---one of the owners was actually an employee of Red's shop.

Think about making something that may be used at home [planter, beer barrel,etc...] then try making half a dozen of something you can sell for the cost of materials to get a bit of trial and error experience without spending all your duckets on materials....
Just my 2 cents !
