Got on Amazon to find a new slave cylinder for my '97 Miata and find the Exedy is $11.71, the Dorman is $20.36, and the OEM Mazda piece is $96.74!!

Is OEM really 9 times better than Exedy? Any reason not to just get the cheap one here?

The one 949 sells is $14 and made by Daikin. I put that one on my last miata with no problems.

I did the Goodwin-Racing kit with the replacement cable from the hard line to the slave and so far, so good. The nipple from the coiled line to my slave was screwed up, so I needed such a hose anyhow.

Tip: Bench bleeding will save you time if you don't have a pressure bleeder. I ended up making my own pressure bleeder with the old cap and an epoxied in air line nipple.

Daikin that I bought ~ 2 years ago is still working for me. About $15 from Rock Auto at that time.
