    Oh also on the suspension:

We had Rancho shocks from an F150 on the front and Bilsteins from a TRD Tacoma in the back, and we got Addco front and rear sway bars from a parted out Cherokee.

All that combined with an impressive (to me anyway) race weight of only 2,677 lbs helped the thing handle.

All that is nothing without the awesome driving of Alan though. We had hinted to him in '09 that we would be bringing a Jeep and instead of looking at us like we were crazy he just said "can't wait to drive it!".

What autox are you going to? I'll be at Devens for the Halloween autox with NE-SVT. check out motorsportsreg.com if you're interested.

Awesome job, guys. I think you're inspiring a movement.

    Cherokee > P71? I say yes. I'm bringing my M-B 300te and the title to a nearby dealer to compare against a 2WD, 5-speed 4 door Cherokee.

The Cherokee does everything the Benz does, but can also tow and rallycross. Setup like yours, I could even see an HPDE or Autocross.

    My wife says thanks.

The plan is to have it at Devens on the 30th. Maybe we can run it on the 31st instead since we would really like to run with you guys in the future.

HA! We couldn't have predicted this!

We have talked about RallyX once its Challenge life is over. When we got home we unbolted the race rubber and put the Jeep up on crappy metal rims and tires. It looks like it wants to get dirty!

Thanks for the info on the suspension so far.. ive got the basics and im tempted to keep bugging for specifics, but i will digress for now on that..

As far as the renix exhaust manifold, i thought i noticed that.. i happen to have a newer 4.0 shortblock and both renix manifolds on the ground out here.. i was wondering if you guys had a pic of the exhaust manifold mods with it off the motor?

    Thanks

I've posted this picture before but I was a little more secretive at that time. Here you can see Dave tack welding the 440 header parts to the cut and modified Renix manifold. What I can't find a picture of is the square basketball hoop pole used to mate the manifold to the turbo flange. I'll find it...

What size were the wheels and tires?

15x10 wheels wrapped in 275/35/15 hoosier take-offs. rears are 4" backspace since the ford 8.8 is narrower the stock axle and front is 5" bs, hence the two different pairs of wheels.

alan said the turn-in and grip was excellent, just needed a LSD (apparently junkyard stuff can suck as it HAS one, so we'll have to shim it...) and lots more power, as this was pre-turbo. he even asked what brakes we're running since he called them 'awesome'.... the rears are kool-vue pads for $6.89 and front 30k mile old autozone duralast gold off jeff's DD cherokee after he did a brake job!

I feel like I'm going to be slowly killing you guys with a tack if I keep posting bits of info. That and I'm at work and should be working. lol

I'll try to get a build thread up tonight.

BTW they are 15x10s and 275-35 Hoosiers haha. ok no more until tonight...

Registration is still open and you don't need to be a member to race in the last 2 races this year. Come on out and play. 10 runs, 2 mile long course, good times for all.

I could barely wait to see this thing in action, but it was definitely worth the wait. I am amazed at how well this came together and I know you all have just started scratching the surface of where the performance can end up.

Congrats on an epic parking lot build!

I might have to come out to devens just to take more pics and some video...
