Why can't we have series like this on this continent?

We do have stage rally on this continent... it's kinda spread out, and definitely more prevalent in some regions than others, but no reason you couldn't put an E30 together and going rally.

Yeah I know we have stage rally, (just not anywhere near me), but I wish it was popular enough to support a spec/challenge series. Or maybe a Mazda vs. BMW challenge series. 318i vs. Miata vs. RX7 All three are abundant cars with road racing spec series which means there are lots of cheap parts and cages to be had. I'm not saying they're exactly equal but it would be cool if it actually worked.

That was great! I would like to set up my car like that so it will be able to tackle both dirt and tarmac.

And now there is also (or was) a Fiesta Cup.

The best thing about north american rallying is that making a spec series is as simple as getting your buddies to all agree to build the same car to the same specs. No having to get any sort of official sanction about it. In fact, someone is trying to start a spec e30 rally series in Colorado last time I checked...

Of course, spec series are sort of not useful at all in rallying. Driver skills takes a major front seat to what car you have in general, so most cars can simply compete against each other...

You do have to keep in mind that Germany is about half the size of Texas. It's no wonder that a smaller and more densely populated area can support such a series, the regularity of the events, and the condensed enthusiasm to make it happen. What I want to complain about is how difficult it seems to be to get adequate support and permissions to do such events locally (wherever you may be).
