I just picked me up an SVX motor, and I'm thinking of going megasquirt right off the bat.

The stock ECU has two O2 sensors, one in each manifold. Supposedly it trims the fuel for each bank of cylinders independently.

If I go megasquirt, I will have batch fire injection to start with. That means I can't really use both O2 sensor. So this brings up the real question.

Can I run a wideband in one of the banks and 'blanket tune' all 6 cylinders based off data from one bank? (3 cylinders)

    Is that safe?

Or am I better off putting the wideband much further downstream after the Y.

You can use one side usually with no issues. I have done just that, tuned, and then just verified the other side was close by moving the sensor and logging.

Also you could use two with batch. There are two channels. You just need to wire the injectors accordingly.
