    So the new tires/wheels on my Passat rub when I hit a good bump. I've rolled the fenders part way, but I think even if I flatten the lip totally I'm still going to hit the outside fender edge barely. I have to get more clearance so I can lower the car (I'm under threat of bodily harm if I don't lower it). I'm thinking of using a Port-a-power and trying to push the fender lip outward from the body. Or maybe use a scissor jack and some blocks of wood. I think I gained a little width from rolling the fender, but I think I might need a little less than a 1/4 inch overall for clearance.

    Yes I could just get smaller tires, but why get rational now?

    I've been thinking about picking up one of these. there is a place that rents them, but with the chance of me messing it up, and having to pay full price for it, I figure purchasing a new one would make more sense.

    Add heat with whatever you use. Get the heat gun out and keep it warm.

    Use the eastwood, just be careful not to flare them out too much.
