I swear she picked a color combo that pretty much guarantees that I'll have my manhood questioned if I drive it.

But I'm comfortable with that, because, it's a hoot to drive (even if it is an automatic) and makes me want an Abarth one even more.

Cool! I was doubting myself when I saw a red one on the beltway, then I saw a commercial on TV. About time we start getting some cool Euro cars over here.

And several people have asked, "I thought you were getting the convertible?"

I have to explain it is, but the window frames don't move.

For grins' n giggles, I just checked the inventory of a local dealer. There are over sixty 500's listed online; seven are five speeds and the rest are six speed slushboxes.

But, hey, there is a fledgling aftermarket with plans for the car:

    Yeah, pretty much.

Who cares? Seriously, aren't we all way past that by now?

Looks like an awesome little car. I love the color - looks like a fairly uncommon MINI color from a few years ago. If I repaint my Miata I'd consider that color.

Well, I'm not.... And here I thought testosterone decreased with age....

I don't really care much... just pointing out that it's the car, not the color.

I think they are neat and hope they sell well as commuters. Small and "lightweight" is a good trend.

throw an old-school offset black rally stripe over the hood / roof / hatch and i think you'll like that color a lot more. Then replace those stock wheels with some panasports and i think you'll be onto something, even if it is an autotragic.

I saw my first one Tuesday evening. Someone brought it to a Porsche Club meeting. I didn't get a very close look at it, but it did look pretty cool. It was mostly white with black strips or trim. It looked as if the owner checked off a lot of option boxes.

I'm trying to convince her that a set of matching color steelies with chrome dog dish hubcaps would look good too.

I don't need to change it because she put me on the list for an Abarth when they arrive. I think I'll manage......

A Chrysler dealer in Toronto has a brand new Viper for sale. Buy it, and he'll throw in a Fiat 500. (Ad in today's paper.) That should take care of the manhood thing.

Looks like an old VW Bug color. And a hoot to drive.

Did the dealer tack on a "dealer's premium" since they are so new?

I was sitting at a light next to one in my Miata the other day and it made my Miata look big. That is one little car. I like it.

Steelies, four big driving lights on the front and some really ratty looking homemade mud flaps would make it look hardcore.

I am ready for the Italian invasion. There's an Alfa Giulietta with manufacturer plates that lives a couple streets over from me. It's so hot.

I'm ready for the version with more power. Or less weight. Or both.

OR a version with less/same power that gets really good mileage.

I'm waiting for the Abarth, REALLY curious to see how it stacks against a Cooper S.
