    I'm looking for my winter project and I'm looking at these, so far:

    '76 and '77 TR7 -not the preferred years, but they're supposedly rust free and nice bodies. Always wanted one of these (not sure why) and I already have a 2.8/5 speed picked out.

    '72 914 - Carbed 1.7, rust free, but with a funky body kit (think 70s) and would need a lot of work. I had a couple some years ago and liked them.

    '84 Toyota PU - Already in decent shape, but not quite as sporting as the others. I already own this and like the way it drives.

    '67-'69 Mustang - STILL want a V8 and was always a Mustang fan (mom ownd a '65 289 and a '72 351HO, both manual trannys). Great support and parts availability.

    Fox body Mustang - See above.

    '74 IH Scout II - the oddest idea of the bunch. I've always liked the short bed Scouts and we have a local show (Cars and Parts meet at the fairgrounds) that has some of the best examples from around the country -including one from Hawaii. A large, heavy vehicle, but still cool.

    Anyone else have anything "planned" for the winter?

    I could put the ratoury into the Herald.... (don't see too many Heralds)

    There was another herald for sale a bit ago on Craigs, not sure if it is still around but it looked to be in better shape.

    Out of your options I would go for the 914 or Mustang, I think my next project will be a 914 or another MG.

    Where are you in Ohio? I am living in Columbus now with no garage or place to work on a car. If you want any help I would be glad to lend a hand on weekends, I can turn some wrenches and bring beer.

    I'm just west of Springfield. I was in Columbus for the German car show today(hoping to see some 914s), but the weather didn't cooperate....

    I want to put an LS1/t56 into my accord sedan. But more likely I'll be hunting a conversion van to build into a multi-purpose track day hauler for the motorcycle.

    Well, that one's a 4cyl ratoury. Might not fit.

    Does this mean that you finished your honduh project(s)? Want to help me put a sr20 in a 95+ metro hatch?

    The LS1 would fit easily...the T56 will require cutting. I think a 240sx subframe would fit fairly easy out back, too.

    SR20 in a metro....sounds fun, but an LS1 in a metro sounds better.

    Well...."finished" only until and if I find a decent (NO rust) replacement for the three that I had that might need , at most, some parts or minor repair. I've not had much luck at summer looking.

    ...and now my AADD (automotive ADD) has kicked in...

    Sure I can help. Just let me know where and when and I check my schedule.

    rust free 914 ????

    I thought they came with rust from the factory.

    The SR-metro probably won't actually happen until the doors fall of the sentra or next spring, if ever.

    Concerning your original list, I'd vote for giving the 'Yota some love over the winter.

    It might not happen this winter but I am looking to put a 2.3 duratec with a T-5 into my capri (w/Quads4Rod bellhousing).

    How about a Subaru powered 914? I have wanted one of those for a while!

    As for me this winter, I will be building a dedicated race car. Thinking about a 1st gen rx-7 for the Pro7 class or maybe turning my DD into a Time Trials car!

    Sounds great. Wrenching and beer. Two great things brought together...
