I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let my cars run

I'll be scrambling for my Epi-pen in turn one.

The Group 44 reunion is what's piquing my interest. I hope there are a lot of photos taken of that.

There will be. It's going to be awesome. There's more than a dozen Group 44 cars committed to being there already.
And the Group 44 dinner is going to be amazing for the folks lucky enough to get tickets before they run out.

If you've got a cage, a logbook, and competition history, I'll bet we will...

I have a rally license. That means you have to let me go 30 seconds ahead of the guy behind me, and 30 seconds behind the guy ahead
I don't see the class for rally cars with bored and stroked engines - but I wouldn't want to risk my fenders to a bunch of Spec racers anyhow. What's the class for Miatas with modified LS1s?

Keith, you'd have to start 30 seconds back in either of those monster Miatas

I notice IT cars aren't mentioned. NASA PT, yes, but ITA/ITS gets teh shaft. What gives?
Not that my ITA meotter will be anywhere near done by May, but something is wrong here. . .

IT Miatas would probably fall into the Open class. Don't worry, no one was intentionally given teh shaft.

Then it's a good thing that Steamcorners won't have his car done... The last thing I need to do is start buying back bits and pieces of my old car!!!

OK, I'm coming. Don't know what I'll do yet..at first I thought I'd see if my old shop buddy still has my GT-6 laying around, but I'd never get it finished in time. I'll probably bring the black Corrado, it ought to be done by then.
Heck, I may bring the whites and work turns. IIRC, the Mitty `85 was the first event I ever flagged. An SM race that big, I gotta be a part of..

Dude, have you ever seen a Spec Miata race?
If they have as many cars show up as they're hoping for, this is going to be epic.
EDIT: Ooops! Shoulda looked at your profile first. My apolgies.

If I read the info correctly, they only plan on starting 72 cars. They can do more than that. If the Frank Kimmel Street Stock series can run 70 to 80 cars at a place like Bristol, surely you guys can start 100 Miatas or more at Road Atlanta. I'd love to see the pace lap for that one.

72 cars for the final. But 500 cars, and 2 qualifying races - that sounds to me like 250 cars on the track at a time.
Road Atlanta is 2.54 miles long, which is 13 411'. A Miata is 13' long. 250 Miatas is only 3250' long. There's lots of room! We only have to worry when we get to a full thousand.
Unless there are giant Miatas. They take up more room.

Okay, I'm obviously missing a joke that started while I was away from racing. So...what is a "giant" Miata?

This is a race for the world's largest Miatas, isn't it? If it's not, a lot of kids are going to be disappointed.
