Woody, don't do that to me until I get all three of mine healthy. If I bring home a new project, she won't lay me until I sell it.

Is there some sort of purification ritual somewhere that will get my Triumph fixation out of my system? Geez, I was even threatening to go find my GT6 the other day. I've got a clean title...from Mississippi...stuck somewhere in the Bentley manual...that I laid on the passenger seat ten years ago as the thing was towed to a field next to one of my racing buddies' house...

(sigh) This kind of temptation never goes away, does it..

Nah. The 1"x6"s are. See them? They're the ones you'd have to remove to get the car out.

I don't know.. Looks like a more rare but more satisfying, shed find.

  • March 12, 2009 7:34 a.m. mistanfo Dork

No, not a shed find, a run-in shed find. If we're going to be specific, let's be specific.

hmmm.. so which ran with parked.. the triumph or the shed?

Someone in my town has a TR4 in BRG poking out of a shed just like that. The owner won't sell, the wife is about ready to give it to me but her husband "will get around to restoring it."

TR4s are absolutely my favourtie Triumph.

And IRS on most examples. How could you tell it was a 250 (I'm assuming it's not a 5 because it's in the US )?

They have a TR 250 badge (on the back, not sure where else). I saw one driving down the highway a while back. I had no idea what it was, a friend who is into MG's had to explain it to me.

They also have one on the nose, but ya sure can't see it in that pic...

I've seen it enough to know that there's no badge and that the grill is not the same as the one on this car:

If I thought it was a TR250, I would have gone after it by now.

Am I wrong for wanting a TR7, B.L. quality at its best

  • Tim Baxter

That's a TR4. I only said TR5/250 in response to Carson saying TR4s were his favorite Triumphs. Sorry for the confusion. Carry on.

Neon, I've always wanted a TR7. Just not bad enough to actually buy one.

Story on my wanting a TR7, back at Boces my Auto tech class had a green TR7 that we where suposed to fix up and we raffled it off... I dont want to think of how much I spent on tickets for that thing But I dont feel so bad because we could never get it to run right

Hey, I do love the TR5 and the sound and linear power of the straight sixes, do not get me wrong. I just love the TR4 and TR4A more. I have a thing for the under 2 litre SCCA racing of the 60s.

THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES!!...uh, sorry. Flashback.

Back when I was racing (SCCA Improved Touring, SEDIV), there was a guy running a 7 in ITB. He couldn't hang with us on the straights, but man, he sure had it hooked up under the fenders. He gave the RX7s fits in the twisty bits. I once asked him what he'd have to do to give it more power. His answer was, "..make it illegal."

Plus eleventy billion. Too bad it was only one year (1968).

I harbor secret lust in my heart for a TR7 'vert. Red with a biscuit interior.
