Hijack alert -- I am a new Elise owner, too. Sadly I don't pick it up until April 25th. 2007, Sport Pack, Stage 2 exhaust, 7000 kms.

Krypton green. You only live once.

    I'll post pics soon.

    I presume you mean 2011?

I'd be too excited to even make the post, so I don't blame you.

    Yep -- 2007 starts a new sentence.

    Of course, I just learned my friend purchased a 2011 Exige S . . .

Kick him in the nuts and tell him to buy a real car. That'll confuse him. My friends always look at me weird when I say there Miata is a girl car, as I climb out of my own.

NICE!!!! Now you can call it "The Tennis Ball!!" Color really stands out, and the exhaust will make you tear up because it sounds so gooooood!

Which brings up an interesting question: aside from the body and 'frame,' just how much of these cars are all that exotic? The motor can't be that hard, being a Toyota, right? Anything else that a reasonably skilled wrench couldn't handle? I'd farm out any body/frame jobs like I would with any car, but the rest seems doable.

    Is that assumption off base?

That is my thinking as well. I sure hope that is the case because I am planning on one being in the driveway in about 14 months.

A friend used to track his. He challenged me to get in and out of it. I'm +100 lbs on him. When I got out of it he was stunned. Then I asked him to get into my NA Miata with a hard top and racing seats. He got stuck. Practice man, practice
