+10000. That is one of the cars I am going to be searching for after I finish my Yugo. But I have no way to get it now and no money to get it.

Whatever it is it needs a 273 and a 5 speed.
And to be in my driveway.

Awesome. Next question.

Also, I'm still not entirely sure what the hell that is, so if someone could throw out a name I'd appreciate it.

Sunbeam Alpine/Rapier. 1725cc/4 cyl. Some honour the Sunbeam Tiger by fitting a 289 in there. Cool.

Those things are mega rare in the UK. Easier to come by in Australia and must be absolute rocking horse poo here.
I didn't know they were ever imported.

Are those MGB tail lights?
-

Doesn't look like it. MGB taillights don't slope in as much at the top.

Guy must be one of us if his suggested swap is a rotary, lol.
Though my first reaction was "Eww, it's got '60s Barracuda butt.".

My wife had one long ago. Oddly enough, in Oklahoma as well. The last time I saw it, the chickens had abandoned it as a coop, and goats were walking around on it.

If a barracude and a jensen had illegitimate love child, and that isn't a bad thing at all.

If they're rare in the UK, what must parts be like?? Would you have to look down under?

Mechanical bits are shared with the Hillman Hunter/Arrow and other Rootes group cars.
Keeping one working shouldn't be an issue. Finding the misc body bits would be the problem but nothing global.ebay.com can't help with.
A car like the one in the CL ad is the perfect GRM car. It would be horribly expensive to restore to level the Bringatrailer crowd want so it makes it OK to modify.
