Today, while sorting through my various back issues of car mags, I came across the Nov/Dec 1990 issue of GRM. It said that that particular issue was a 6th anniversary issue. Therefore, GRM is about to hit 25 years young.

BTW, if you think the current mag is great, here are a few things to consider:

Page count in N/D 1990 was 62....YES, "only" 62 pages.

The most recent issue I own (Nov. 2008) has 202 pages, a 300+% increase.

The newstand price in 1990? Would you believe...$3.98? Today's newstand price? ONLY $4.98 or an increase of 25% in nearly 19 years. Considering how much better the mag is now....it's truely a collossal bargain.

Cars tested 19 years ago included a 240Z comparo with a 240SX....nearly a draw, and the Suzuki Swift GT.

And Mr. Suddard, too bad that issue has a drawing of you and not a picture for comparo....I'm guessing you've increased a few pounds in 19 years too.

To all involved with the mag currently, and over the years, thanks for an OUTSTANDING magazine.

A dollar increase is well below inflation. $4 in 1990 is probably around $6 now.

    Go GRM!

I never realized that the magazine had evolved out of a scene from a high school play.

I wonder if they can do a good routine of insult jokes, like those two old guys in the balcony on The Muppet Show!
