I just posted this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/293771239862?ViewItem=&item=293771239862&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123

We are still starting an early Mustang low-buck vintage race car project, but I found a Shelby-look 65 Fastback to start with that I like better. No reserve! Might be bought for $2000 Challenge money. I am cool with that. Just need to get it gone to make room of the 65 that I am heading to Cobra Automotive to pick up next week.

i just bid on it. I would 100% buy this for budget money. always wanted one. Obviously love the fastback but beggars cant be choosers.

On one hand i hope you get as much as possible for it but on the other hand i hope i win for budget money lol.

While not a perfect car, it would definitely make a good low-buck track day, autocross or vintage race car. The cage seems stout and decently done and the car is stripped and has a lot of the expensive stuff done. You could easily straighten the ding up front, but a core support is about $100 at npdlink.com and would be the quicker and slicker way to go.

Thanks for bidding. I need to get it and a Bugeye out of my life, as four cars have come into my life this year. I promised myself I would limit my habit/problem to 15 cars. I am a liar!

Oh man that would make a wild CAM-T or CP car...

If I could get $2500 for the Bugeye project, that would be fine.

I don't suppose you'll take a Town Car, a Probe, a Focus, and an Escort all together as trade... cheeky

Already at 3K with 6 days left of bidding....this will go for a lot more than challenge budget.

I'm guessing 5k

Love the green color. Don't need a vintage Mustang Racer.

Lol sorry. I figured id be willing to spend all 2k for a sweet budget car but when i saw it climb quick i realized it was a matter of time before i was outbid.

Probably for the best.

Vintage Mustang prices make me sad. Even a rusted out E36 M3box is out of my price range.

In reply to slowbird :

$3k is a fairly solid deal for a solid bodied Mustang. Even if it is race prepped and not a road goer.

Yeah, the green looks really nice. Just goes to show how a few hours cleaning up a car and taking nice photos really add to your bottom line when selling.

In reply to Mr_Asa :

Yeah, I get it. I wasn't saying this is a bad deal or anything. It's just that even when classic Mustangs are cheap, they're still out of reach for my ramen noodle budget. If anyone knows of a first-gen Mustang for $300, I'm happy to be proven wrong, even if it's swiss cheese with wheels. wink

This made me LOL

most of a driveshaft loop and frame bracing. One rear brake drum is present.
