Track-ready hatchbacks are cool. One you don't typically see out on track is Toyota's Matrix. Forum member nofords has put in a lot of work into making this 2010 Toyota Matrix a performer in NASA's Performance Touring ranks. Modifications include an engine and transmission swap and a suspension overhaul with Celica parts.

2ZZ swap? Very cool, although I would wonder what inspired the use of the second gen Matrix, over the first gen that had the XRS option from the factory?

I was also pretty curious about this. 

I would think starting with a XRS already with a 2ZZ and a 6 speed would be a bit easier and cheaper.
