With another round of autocross events looming on the calendar, work has continued in earnest to prep our 2003 Nissan 350Z project car for action in the SCCA's STU Solo class. The current big project is the removal of the 175,000-mile OEM shocks with their mismatched springs and replacing them with a proper set of dampers and springs.

ISC Suspension pieces will fill the holes left by our stock parts. The ISC coil-overs are unique in that the bottom mounts also thread onto the body of the shock, meaning that not only are the spring perches adjustable, the whole unit is adjustable for length. We're starting out conservatively with spring rates—780 lb./in. front and 670 lb./in. rear. This is toward the soft end of what some other competitors are using, but we've always felt it's easier to start soft then increase spring rate if you need it than the other way around.
