There's a growing handful of GRM staff members gearing up for the Rallycross event in Orlando next month, and the smack talk has begun.

Tim and Tom S. will be entering with their new Mercedes Benz, I'll be there in the Mazda2,and David is threatening to bring the Impreza Wagon. Per Schroeder and Joe Gearin have both mentioned wanting to come too, but haven't decided what to drive. (I'm pushing Joe to bring the sweet AMC Concord.) FNG Alan says he's on board as well, but is unsure what to drive.

I fully expect GRM Alumni Greg Voth to show up with the Forester XT and crush us all.

I really want to run my Miata, but it's the only transportation I have. I'm worried about the oil pan specifically, since my car is lowered. Not exactly ideal for rallycross. I like riding my bike and all, but I don't want to do it every day while I pull the engine out to replace the oil pan.

Maybe--just maybe--we'll get the LeMons Lincoln project ready in time and be able to slide that sucker sideways a bunch.

Though if David unbunches his underpants and actually makes good on the threat to bring the Impreza, I'd be thrilled to co-drive it. Oh yes.

Regardless, that Mercedes should be a hoot to watch.

Impreza was the 11th car to be entered. Alan may still want to bring the Lincoln, though.

The event page has the gouge. Rental cars historically do well at Florida Rallycross events. Go get 'em!

Monique is out of town that weekend so unless I roll the thing or blow up something real good I should be fine running her DD.

As it is, I still think I'm going to pwn you, it'll just be a little bit harder because I'm driving the Mercedes.

Pssh. The Merc or Trooper is no challenge to the Forester.

I'd put good money I could beat you in any car. My only legitimate race wins are in Rally-X (Auto-X trophys in a class of 1 don't count)

I have to say I'm very very disappointed that I couldn't make this event between the XR being broken and family vacation plans (Legoland was very cool!). I hope I'm able to attend another event soon and maybe finally meet somuvya'll that I read so much about (and from). Next time... next time...
