This is a really fun event, the track has a "Sebring" feel to with plenty run off.

And from a spectator perspective, Coronado is a great event. You can't get very close to the action except for one turn, but from the grandstands you can see the entire track. I live on the East Coast but went to 7 or 8 Coronado events between 1998 and 2008, back when Steve Earle was running it. There were always excellent cars and well-known drivers to see. Paddock activity is great. And the spectator car corrals are among the best, sort of like Cars and Coffee Irvine caliber of cars. (Of course, it's Southern California). Coronado Island is a cozy little community and if you're staying in the area be sure to visit the Hotel del Coronado and have dinner or at least drink there. San Diego is a few minutes away too. Get there if you can!
