Had a great time at Watkins Glen last weekend with the Vintage Racer Group [VRG]

Peter Egan (from that other car magazine) showed up from Wisconsin with his Crossle Formula Ford and Jere Stahl (the guy who owns Stahl Headers) brought his Volvo P1800.

In fact the Volvo Sports Association brought a ton of old Volvos (it's the 50th anniversary of the P1800). I was lucky enough to have some great races with some of those Volvos, particularly one of the 122Ss. You can see some good examples of that in the beginning of ~This Video~

You can see all the photos and videos from the event ~here~

    Some photos......

Nice pics, I see a few guys from my race group, HRG. It looks like Michael (on laptop, second pic from the website)and his son from Vintage Race services had a few cars there as well. Why did it seem like only the Brit cars were up on jack stands with people under them? Nice group of Minis too, how many clowns were seen in the pit lane?

    thanks mike

Glad to see that Peter Egan didn't totally AARP-out a few months ago when he bought the Caddy Sedan de Ville. The FF is another new acquisition according to hes latest column. He has redeemed himself.

Egan's Ford killed a clutch so he didn't run the last day. He told me the new clutch would be a "winter project". I told him that with a Wisconsin winter, he'd have plenty of time. :-D

He's a totally nice guy. We chatted about tail wheel aircraft as well as Brit cars.

That's Michael Clifford and his son looking at the laptop (yes...from Vintage Race Services). The son drove their Lotus Cortina (but with 1600 pushrod engine). The other guy is Michael Oritt....another Elva owner.

The Minis were mad-fast! One of the guys put a video online. He was using second where I was in 3rd and 4th. Talk about close ratio!
