I just happened to be embarking on the usual CL searching for random stuff and found one local. Looks like one of the coolest 250cc bikes ever made! What's the story on these little guys?

My first bike. Sounds like a weed whacker, not too powerful. Cheap and fairly reliable, but battery is weak and if you flood it, you can kill the battery trying to start it.

Hmmm. Seems they were only produced for 1 year in the states. Not worth the trouble..

I wasn't sure they ever imported the 250. The SRX-6 was imported only in 1986 and they have taken on a cult status. I had a chance to buy one (one owner for $1200) when I only had a temporary job I hated. I had to pass.

I like that GS1000 in the background with the Windjammer fairing.

According to wikipedia they were imported for 1 year. The reason I made the post is because I stumbled upon one on CL locally. Hrm... just did another search and there are TWO for sale locally!

not mine etc... http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/mcy/2947240108.html Almost 100% mint
