Could you just buy a more common used tank off of Ebay? It may be less expensive.

Haha good idea. I had thought about that, but what I'm finding is that if I went to say a CB360 tank (very common) that my seat won't look right.
Or I went to a thinner longer tank, the tunnel might be deep enough.
Plus $30 for a tank, maybe it needs the petcock rebuilt, thats another $10, shipping is $10-20...it might be just as easy to pay $80.

I must channel my inner redneck.
Find larger and cheaper petcock, jb weld to current male part. Think of it as a permanent petcock condom.

The one time I attempted to use JB Weld in contact with fuel, it was a disaster. I had a DGV with a hairline crack in the float bowl, and despite removing it from the car, cleaning it thoroughly with several applications of carb cleaner, and allowing it to set for several days before and after applying JB Weld (to the outside of the bowl), it was peeling off in about 2 weeks...

CB400F, but its a 75' tank which requires a M20 thread on the tank side.
If you can find one for less than $50 I'd be real surprised.
I also have a 77 tank with a petcock already in it, but the tank itself is leaking, needs major bondo, and the petcock is leaking as well.
wow, a 75 foot tank.
