A 4runner with the 3.0 liter will make your 4.0 Cherokee feel like its got a big block in it and drag slicks.

I think I'll stick to a Miata if I want a momentum car

Any progress made here? Looked at either Bronco?

Well, I did get distracted by an SVX...

That said, I had a look at the green Eddie Bauer one. Given that the owner looked very much ex-military and had a USMC tattoo, I very politely pointed out that the two of us very obviously had different ideas as to what constitutes good condition vehicles that don't need much, if any, work.

I had looked at the silver one in the past (without the dealer being present) and it does look clean from the outside; I'm not too keen on the respray though...

Another tempting vehicle has just shown up on CL: http://reno.craigslist.org/cto/1966895250.html

Anybody familiar with these at all?

WOW! That's both rare and at an awesome price (at least for something similar back east).

I've only seen (what I thought were) 351 3/4 ton versions... never a big block 1 ton. I'd be on that in a heartbeat.

The only downsides I've seen is that these appeared to have more significant rust issues than the standard trucks of the same era...

That is really rare. It's not a Ford doing, its a 4-door conversion. Nothing wrong with that, just something to be aware of.
